![]() ![]() The owners are treating her as, for instance, lower-class (which she is). It is a shame that she and Taylor have to call the owner’s Ms and Mr because she does not have as much money as the owners she’s cleaning for. As you can see, Taylor’s mom had to clean for houses and she and Taylor had to call the owners and the children Ms or Mr. Barbara Kingsolver mentions Taylor’s mom cleaning up houses and calling the owners Ms or Mr “ I stamped my foot and told my mother not call Marietta but miss Marietta, as I had to call all the people including children in the houses where she worked to miss this or mister”. As Taylor navigates the challenges of being a single mother, she learns about the resilience and strength required to care for a child, and the importance of creating a safe and loving home for her daughter. One of the most significant themes in the novel is motherhood, as Taylor finds herself unexpectedly caring for a young Cherokee girl she names Turtle. As she travels through different states, she encounters a diverse group of people who become her chosen family, including Lou Ann, a single mother struggling to raise her son, and Estevan and Esperanza, a Guatemalan couple who have fled their country in search of safety. Throughout the novel, Taylor learns the importance of family and community, and how they shape one’s sense of identity. ![]() A recent example is what Apple did with the M1 version of the MacBook Air, which still lingers on and sells for $999. ![]() Sure, there's the odd outlier, like the Apple iPhone SE (2022), or how Apple occasionally keeps an older product around to fill a low-end spot in a product line. Apple Takes a Different Tack ![]() In fact, the last Intel models started at an even higher price, with the Core i3 Mac mini model selling for $799 way back in 2018. That's especially surprising when you consider that the M1 model from 2020 started at $699. Regardless, there's no denying that the base Mac mini model looks like it could be one of the best values Apple has offered in years. Other 2023 Mac mini configurations are available for more, like a 512GB model for $799, or a top-end option with the new M2 Pro processor, which is up for preorder at $1,299. But it raises some curious questions about that price. And yes, Apple: The same Apple that charges an extra $1,000 just for the stand that goes with its expensive Pro Display XDR monitor and Mac Pro desktop (a combination that starts around $10,000, and goes much, much higher for top configurations).Īpple's announcement of a new version of the Mac mini, starting at $599 and touting current-generation M2 processors, came as a surprise. ![]() Google Patents System, method, and computer program product for providing location based services and mobile e-commerceĭownload PDF Info Publication number US8611919B2 US8611919B2 US10/154,008 US15400802A US8611919B2 US 8611919 B2 US8611919 B2 US 8611919B2 US 15400802 A US15400802 A US 15400802A US 8611919 B2 US8611919 B2 US 8611919B2 Authority US United States Prior art keywords user data information processor location Prior art date Legal status (The legal status is an assumption and is not a legal conclusion.
